Export the game
You finished the game (or want to show how it is going) and need to send it to someone who does not have Brasa.
In the editor
Section titled “In the editor”- Open Projeto › Exportar jogo… (Project › Export game).
- Choose the Pasta de saída (output folder). Brasa suggests a folder called
exportados, next to the project folder. - Leave Gerar também o .zip (also generate the .zip) checked if you are sending it over the internet.
- Click Exportar (export).
Brasa saves the project, compiles the game and, at the end, opens the folder with the result. Progress shows up in the Saída (output) panel.
What comes out
Section titled “What comes out”MeuJogo/ MeuJogo.exe data/MeuJogo.exeis the game. The name is the project’s.datahas what the game reads: the rooms, the objects, the sprites, the tilesets and the sounds.MeuJogo.zip, next to it, is the same folder compressed.
To send it, send the zip (or the whole folder). Whoever receives it extracts it and opens the .exe: no need to install Brasa or Visual Studio.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- The executable and the
datafolder go together. On its own, the.execannot find the levels or the images. - The source code does not go along: the
.cppand.hppfiles become the executable and stay with you. - Exporting again to the same folder rebuilds the game folder. If a folder with that name and other content already exists, Brasa warns you and deletes nothing.
- The exported game opens the way it is set in the project settings: resolution, full screen and start room.
From the command line
Section titled “From the command line”brasa_cli export <pasta do projeto> <pasta de saída>It does the same as the editor. With --no-zip, it does not generate the zip. See brasa_cli.
Limits of this version
Section titled “Limits of this version”- It only exports for Windows.
- The game uses Brasa’s icon.
- The data stays in ordinary files inside
data: whoever receives it can open the images and the sounds.
